CM laid foundation stone of State's first Residential Complex at Gangtok with 200 Units
09 Mar, Gangtok (IPR) : The Chief Minister, Shri Pawan Chamling laid the foundation stone of the first planned Residential Complex of Gangtok for the construction of 200 units at Lumsey, 5 th ?Mile here today.
The Minister for UD&HD, Shri N.K. Subba who is also the Chairman of Sikkim Housing and Development Board (SH&DB), Minster for Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department, Smt. Tulsi Devi Rai, Gangtok Municipal Corporation Mayor, Shri Shakti Singh, UD&HD Secretary, Shri L.P Chettri, Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department Secretary, Ms. Sarala Rai and other official of various department were present.
The phase-I housing project is under Sikkim Housing and Development Board (SH&DB) and developers are JMC and Kuber World which will be made in proposed site of 2.2 acre land. The housing will be designed in an eco-friendly manner along with geo-tagging studies and soil stability reports. The 200 units will have 2BHK, 3BHK and 4BHK with Space allotted for social activities and basis amenities like; children park, car parking, gym walking track, sewage treatment plant, solid waste treatment plant, lift, other infrastructure element and gangways from one unit to other unit for the convenient of residents.
In order make it more eco-friendly, installation of solar panel roof structure to reduce consumption of electricity for regular supplies of water in every unit and rain water harvesting system will be set up to maximize natural resources with the principle of reduce, reuse and recycle.
JMC proprietor, Joydeep Majumdar said that the designing of the project will be completed within a month.
Social Welfare Secretary, Ms. Sarala Rai informed that till date more than 500 applications have been received by Sikkim Housing and Development Board for this proposed residential complex.
