07 Mar, Pakyong :?A correction needs to be done claiming 5 March landing at Pakyong Airport was a?first fixed-wing aircraft to land successfully in Sikkim. However, to readers surprise the Indian Airforce IAF Dornier 228 is indeed a second fixed winged aircraft to have landed in Sikkim soil. There are two instances of landing that has taken place.

First aircraft landing took place early 60s during the regime of then King Chogyal.
Landing took place at Paljor Stadium formerly known by name?famous "Polo Ground" at the capital Gangtok.
The only difference is that the first aircraft landed unprecedented on playground and recent second IAF Dornier 228 landed on runway at Pakyong Airport.
