12th Ed of Indo-China Nathula (Sikkim) trade resume for 2018

Gangtok (Nathula) , 01 May : Indo China Trade from Nathula Pass for the year 2018 resumes. The Indo-China Border Trade entered into its 12th edition and as per schedule, the Indo-China Border Trade through Nathula resumed its trade from May 1st 2018 for the year 2018.

However due to bad weather the trading is expected to run from next week as told by traders.

The trade was restarted in the year 2006 which was closed after the 1962 Indo China war.

The 12 th ?edition of the bilateral border trade between India and China from Nathula Border resumed today for the scheduled period of 1 st ?May 2018 to 30 th ?November, 2018 at Nathula Border. The opening function was organized at Nathula to mark the resumption of trade and was attended by officials from Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, Customs, ITBP, Immigration and Traders.

On behalf of the Government of Sikkim, Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, Shri S.K. Pradhan formally declared the trade to be opened for this season of the year 2018, in the presence of Joint Secretary Shri N. Jaswant, officials and traders from both the sides. The trading days are from Monday to Thursday and the trade will continue till 30 th ?November, 2018.

Despite inclement weather in the last few days, the trade opening day was blessed with sunny weather and officers and traders of both the sides reached the Nathula for the resumption of trade for the year 2018
