Pakyong , 14 July : A fear psychosis grips people living in Chungthang Village in North Sikkim since Friday evening around 5:30 PM that reportedly repeated mild tremor was felt. The local also shares a video of window curtain trembling for a long duration.
It is unlikely to assume if the ground tremor aka vibration is result of 1200 MW Dam which belongs to M/s Teesta Urja Ltd.
When this morning The VOS contacted Sikkim Police SDPO Chungthang Mr. Tashi Zangpo , he told that reason will be known after examining only by authority.
On other side The VOS also contacted GM of Teesta Urja Ltd who also accepted the fact and told that he has briefed the incident and by today the technical team will arrive for investigating the matter thoroughly to understand what is causing the vibration. GM Mr. Shah also added that water level reservoir is maintained after the incident triggered tension among people.
Meanwhile the local people are in the?state of anxiety and fear.
