CM Sh PS Tamang (Golay) Message On "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" (National Unity Day) 2019
Pakyong, 30 Oct (IPR) : The Chief Minister Shri P.S.Tamang has extended his warm greetings to the people of Sikkim, on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) which is celebrated across the country on October 31 commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
In his message the Chief Minister stated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel?s commitment to national integration in the newly independent country was total and uncompromising. His belief in the principle of unity in diversity and standing united for the common cause of India?s independence made him the "Iron Man of India".
Rastriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated to remember Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel?s who is also known as ?Unifier of India? and his dedication towards the Nation. This day promotes a sense of unity among people from different communities and brings cultural equality. This day is introduced to bring the spirit of unity, love, peace and fraternity in the country.
The Chief Minister called upon the civil servants to re-dedicate themselves to nation building on the birth anniversary of the person, who was instrumental in establishing the modern All India Services.
On this auspicious occasion of Rastriya Ekta Diwas he has called upon the people of Sikkim to reiterate their faith on the principle of unity in diversity as our strength.
