Combating Menace Of Cahoots Of Insensible Dumping of Waste Materials
Pakyong, 21 Feb : In spite of Some initiatives taken by our Government where the waste dumping vehicle reaches almost every street to collect waste from our respective houses and also after providing colored dustbins for wet and dry waste both so that the waste gets separated and disposing and recycling ? process would be easier, however due to negligence; people still defy this simple practice some people are not intellectually aware enough to be considerate of others in society. They have a false assumption that the trash will decompose back into the earth quickly. People learn more from visualization. So at first the task is to show them with action.
In a recent video we see a man tossing garbage down the cliff (bhir dara) at Soreng south Sikkim that had glass pieces and other household wastes the moment was luckily caught in the camera and when he was approached and intervened he dismissed and claimed to know the ?laws? of his misconduct, this video spread like wildfire, and an initiative was taken by the local Panchayat, Public BDO, and SHO soreng to educate him and finally today he carried cleanliness drive all by himself and took remorse in what he did he also openly said that he would contribute in Swatch Bharat mission and that now he would teach the same to his fellow villagers and relatives and that he is ?thankful.
This should be a message to all , people must realize that how the garbage waste (which are littered all around them) and illegal dumping can harm them as well as the environment, and maybe they won't repeat same mistake intentionally, and will give true efforts from their side, so we could try to make them feel what they are actually missing. Great speeches and articles probably won't help them understand, but our actions and words will.
