Covid 19 : Sikkim Police Constitutes Crisis Response Command CRC
Pakyong , 29 Mar : Sikkim Police has set up a Crisis Response Command for COVID-19 here at Police Headquarter to respond and tackle any emergency situation if arises in the State. The CRC is headed by Sikkim Police IGP Avichal as the Crisis Respond Commander and assisted by two Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Sonam T Bhutia and DB Giri as Deputy Crisis Respond Commanders and five Superintendents of Police as Assistant Crisis Respond Commanders. It has four groups and seven cells.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, DIG Sonam T Bhutia, who is also the Deputy Crisis Respond Commander, mentioned that CRC was the initiative of Sikkim Police for anticipation to response and tackle any emergency situation if develop in the State. He mentioned that the structure of the CRC has been set up in the public interest and presently it was in the planning stage.
He expressed that the presently COVID-19 was the controlled situation in the State and if the situation would go out of hands then the CRC would immediately come into action to give the relief to the people in the State.
DIG said the as the situation changes in the State the CRC would take the control and respond and tackle any situation in the State. He informed that the CRC would be accessible for the general public 24x7 and its Facebook and Twitter pages would be available for the people for interaction and to take their feedback and suggestions.
Likewise, Deputy Crisis Respond Commander, DIG DB Giri mentioned that cases of COVID-19 have been increasing in the country and can be more severe in days to come. On the same, he stated that by seeing the present situation Sikkim Police has set up the CRC not only to maintain the law and order situation but to respond and tackle any situation would develop in the State.
He stated that the CRC has also been sensitizing the police personnel working on the frontline to ensure their full safety. ?We have been taking update of the situation on daily basis from SHOs and Police Outposts across the State to ensure essential commodities should available for the people in all corners of the State and to ensure the protocol for COVID-19 should follow across the State or not,? he said.
DIG mentioned that the CRC would go out on the field in coming days to the check the black-marketing and price rise in the market. He added that the people can contact the control room in any emergency and CRC would respond them. He also welcomed feedback and suggestions from the people and mentioned that the objective of the CRC was to assist the people.
Responding to media queries, they mentioned that the priority of the present time was to avoid the spreading of COVID-19 in the State and urged the people to remain in the home unless it was an emergency.
CRC can be contacted 24x7 through Police Control Room at 03592-221152. It is informed that all assistance shall be provided by CRC to all members and public as soon as possible if contacted and all suggestions were welcome and complaints will also be handled.
