COVID-19 cases in India, 14 Mar 2020
o There are a total of 81 cases in 13 states/UTs, as on 13 March. This includes 17 foreign nationals. 7 new cases and one death has been reported since yesterday

o A 76-year-old COVID-19 patient died on 10 March in Karnataka. He had underlying medical conditions and travel history to Saudi Arabia.
o Local transmission of COVID-19 (infection among those with no travel history to affected countries) reported in five states: Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh
o Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana have only imported cases
o Kerala (17 cases, 2 new), Haryana (14 cases, no new ), Maharashtra (11 cases, 3 new), and Uttar Pradesh (11 cases, no new) have the highest cases among the affected states
o Telangana and Haryana have not reported new cases for more than a week now
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare update on COVID-19 preparedness and actions taken:
o Prime Minister is constantly monitoring and reviewing the situation with the top officials of the concerned Ministries/Departments and States/UTs
o A high-level Group of Ministers was constituted to monitor the situation, evaluate preparedness and formulate measures regarding management of COVID-19 in the country
o Measures are being taken to strengthen containment activities, identify quarantine centers and isolation wards, arrange adequate PPEs, train manpower and rapid response teams
o Screening at airports has been extended to 30 airports and vessels arriving at 12 major ports and 65 non-major ports. All incoming passengers are being universally screened
o All existing visas (except diplomatic, official, UN/International Organizations, employment, project visas) stand suspended till 15 April 2020
o In addition to visa restrictions already in place, passengers traveling from /having visited Italy or Republic of Korea will need certificate of having tested negative for COVID-19 from the designated laboratories authorized by the health authorities of these countries
o All incoming international passengers to India should self- monitor their health and follow Government guidelines
