Covid 19 : CM deliberation regarding 21 days lockdown, thanked everyone

Pakyong , 14 April : Chief Minister Sh Prem Singh Singh Tamang (Golay) met and addressed media persons from electronic and print media at Samman Bhawan, in Gangtok.

During the meet CM apprised the media that government has wholeheartedly welcomed the announcement of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji to extend the lockdown till 3rd of next Month and has fully supported the Centre Government? s decision.
CM informed that his govt is now waiting for the guidelines and advisory which they would release tomorrow and act accordingly in order to intensify fight against Pandemic Covid 19.

Exercising the Govt initative following recently held cabinet meeting to keep going with the decision to seal the borders till 3rd May or even further depending upon centre's directives.
However, CM maintained that demand and supply chain wouldn't be hampered keeping contiounity of supply of essential goods and medical emergencies.

All ASHA workers will be given honorarium of Rs 5,000 in view of their role in the ongoing efforts to contain spread of the COVID-19, he informed.

"Our government is very thankful to the people of Sikkim for their cooperation, they have greatly helped by abiding the lockdown regulations for which I express my deep gratitude towards them. It is due to the dedication of our frontline workers and the support of our people that we have been able to keep COVID-19 out of our state.

I also urge them to continue with the good work and not to be careless or complacent. We have worked really hard to keep this global pandemic at bay and? can only succeed in keeping the disease out of our boundaries by strictly following the social distancing and the protocol of the lockdown.

We would also like to request each and everyone to co-operate with us and keep our state free from COVID-19".
