Covid 19 : Sikkim Doctors and Medical Staff comes up with own styled PPE kits
Pakyong , 18 April : Personal Protection Equipment PPE turns to be a primary tool to keep away Covid 19 at bay especially surrounding Hospital Area where majority of people move around , and that which is very sensitive thing.
As such, For giving continuity to fight against the inferior Covid 19 Coronavirus pandemic , the Doctors from Singtam Govt. District Hospital located in East Sikkim have come up with suprior idea of mending own styled PPEs keeping in the view basic parameters suggested by World Health Organisation WHO. According to the doctors behind the PPE project tells TVOS the imported PPEs which are procured departmentally i.e comes via Ministry of Health GOI are disposable as such there could be scarcity of PPE is it is used on daily basis for patient's guardians, guests, visitors, medical staff etc.
Doctors have formulated a reusable , washable PPE manufactured in-house with support from state govt, donations.
Materials are procured from the state govt initiative , self tailored PPE are stitched by tailors suggested by District Collector East Sikkim.
At present when news is being made globally Cases turned 22,50636 of which 1,54,256 are fatalities and recovered are 5,72076.
In India the cases tops 11616, deaths 452 recovered are 1766. Statewise Delhi tops case per million, where as Maharashtra , Tamil Nadu and Telangana are highest in numbers.
Good thing about Sikkim is that there has been no any report of Covid 19 till now!
