Wild Bear Sighting Amid Lockdown in Gangtok, Sikkim
Pakyong, 01 April : Early morning the Sikkim Forest and Wildlife Authority received distress call from a resident in Gangtok near Telephone Exchange claiming wild bear has entered premise causing injury to one person.
Immediately the team of forest officials with equipment like tranquilizer resorted to place.
The place where bear was reportedly sighted has been cordoned off for public safety , precautionary measures are being invoked to bring wild bear under control by personnel.
This is a peak season wild bear appearance takes place in residential areas since this is time when wild fruits , shoots grow as such loitering wild bear mistakenly enters civilian area.
