Covid 19 : 18 New Cases, Sikkim Touch 477
Pakyong, 24 Jul : Today Sikkim witnessed 18 new cases these are 11 from East Sikkim, 07 from West Sikkim which puts total count of 477 cases so far in Sikkim.
In today's cases 02 positive are from Eco Paradise Mining both male returnees aged 32 and 51 years old, 03 positive out of 04 SSB Jawans from Yuksam Melli Aching West Sikkim , 01 lady of TNA recall here 22 people were tested who were primary contact of Rangpo funeral, of 22 contact 01 turned positive from TNA.
From Chanatar Rangpo 05 test tuned positive of 32 contacts, In Pakyong 03 tuned positive of 25 primary contacts from Nandok GPU. Nandok GPU has been declared containment zone. All of the 08 positives are sent to Himalayan Pharma Boys Hotel Isolation Centre, whereas Rangpo and TNA 10 positive are sent to STNM isolation.
In addition to this in case of Arithang positive case, all primary contacts samples are sent to STNM for testing.
At Zydus Wellness centre located in Mamring South Sikkim after tracing one positive, South District Team have taken 157 RTPCR samples which result will come tomorrow. Similar;ly 17 samples from Jorthang from Timburbong primary contacts are sent to STNM for testing.

As per today's Health Bulletin issued by DG-cum-Secretary, Health, Dr. Pempa T. Bhutia, 18 new cases have been reported in the State in the last twenty-four hours. With 137 persons cured and discharged till date, the total active cases in the State now stands at 340.
It was informed that 10 cases were reported on RTPCR and 8 cases on Rapid Antigen.
Out of the 10 cases reported on RTPCR, 2 persons were from a paid quarantine centre in Majhitar, 4 from SSB Yuksom, 1 from TNA school compound, and 3 from SSB Melli Aching.
On Rapid Antigen testing, 5 from Rangpo tested positive. They were secondary contacts linked to Rangpo and Chanatar cases.
The remaining 3 who tested positive were from Nandok.
It was informed that all the 8 persons have been lodged in the Isolation facility at Himalayan Pharmacy Boys' Hostel Majhitar.
Dr. Bhutia shared the good news that not a single case of Covid-19 was reported from Rongli, Rhenock and Singtam.
He said that the lock-down and containment measures have helped control further spread of the virus in these areas.
The DG-cum-Secretary further informed that the single positive case reported from Singtam yesterday was that of an employee of Zydus Wellness Centre in Mamring.
He informed that 157 more samples from the area have been sent for RTPCR testing today.
He also informed that several samples from Jorethang have also been sent for RTPCR testing.
Further, samples from Arithang in Gangtok are being tested, he informed.
