Sikkim observed the National Deworming Day 2018
10 Mar, Gangtok (IPR) : Sikkim observed the National Deworming Day dedicated to all the children from 1 to 19 years of age. Minister for Health Care, Human Services and Family Welfare Deptt. Mr Arjun Kumar Ghatani officially launched the National Deworming Day campaign in a function organized by the health deptt. at Anganwadi centre, Baluwakhani this morning. The programme also had the presence of Commissioner-cum-Secretary Health Mr. Vishal Chauhan, Principal Directors, Medical Superintendent STNM Hospital, Officials, Mission Director-National Health Mission, Vice Chancellor Sikkim Manipal University Lt. Gen. Dr. MD Venkatesh, Officials, Children and Parents.
Mr Ghatani in his brief address instructed officials to cover cent percent targeted population of children and adolescents in the Deworming campaign and appealed all parents to take their children to the nearby schools and Aganwadi centres to get maximum benefit from the scheme. Further, he said that the?state govt. has provided nutritious and healthy food with required medical facilities as envisioned by the Hon`ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri Pawan Chamling. Children are the furture of the nation and the state government is doing its best to ensure best possible medicial facilities, he said.
Minister also urged parents to benefit from the 2 nd ?round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) i.e. on 11 th ?of March 2018 / Sunday in the entire state of Sikkim.
