CM inaugurated newly constructed BAC Namthang
Namchi, 2nd Feb (IPR): The Chief Minister Mr. P. S. Golay attended the state level Sonam Lhochar celebration at Kateng Public ground, Namthang today.
Present amongst others were his spouse Ms. Shradha Golay, Building & Housing Minister cum Area MLA Mr. Sanjit Kharel, Cabinet Ministers, Political Secretary to HCM Mr. Jacob Khaling, Chairmans, Advisors, MLAs, Secretary RDD Mr. C. S. Rao, Panchayats and public at large.
At the onset of the program CM alongwith dignitaries inaugurated the newly constructed Block Administrative Centre at Namthang.
This centre is equipped with canteen,gym provision, offices for staffs and many other amenities. Thereafter, he unveiled Tamang Community Bhawan at Kateng.
The funding department for this bhawan is Social Justice and Welfare and the executing department is Rural Development Department.
This bhawan has been constructed with the aim to preserve and to promote the cultural heritage of the tamang community.
This bhawan comprises of hall, washrooms, lounge, store, office, library, museum, dormitory and many more.
Addressing, the gathering CM extended his warm wishes on the state level Sonam Lhochar celebrations which is being observed in a grand manner at Namthang. He also congratulated the public of the locality on inaugratuation of a new Block Development Administrative which will assist the masses in completion of various office works.
He also underlined how the maiden Tamang Community Bhawan can aid in maintaining the cultural artifacts of the community and urged the locals to use this bhawan diligently. On the release of 'The Tamang Community in Sikkim- a historical study' book CM highlighted that this kind of book should be translated in vernacular language and that students should be encouraged to read such books so that they can acquire the knowledge of our local history.
The CM also spoke how in Sikkkim various kinds of festivals belonging to different communities is celebrated in a grand scale, in this regard he urged the organizing committee to include each and everyone so as to uphold the secular factor of our state.
Speaking, about Sikkim the CM added that one and all should come together and contribute in transforming and substantially building the state in a positive way.
HCM also elucidated that the State Government is making an adjustment with regards to rules that government employees has to follow and includes affairs concerning transfer policy, removal of the word junior and many more keeping in mind the betterment and enhancement of the state government employees.
The CM also assured that demands placed by the area MLA will be looked into and will be fulfilled at the earliest. As, to the proposal to make Namthang a sub-division CM informed that this point will be put into the next budget session. Delving about Ashta-Chiranjeevi Dham to be established in Namthang the CM updated that the State Government will be taking up this project forward.
He also added that this dham will open up innumerable commercial and employment avenues for the public of Namthang through pilgrimage tourism.
Building & Housing Minister cum Area MLA spoke at length about this celebration he also thanked the public of the locality for their unwavering support towards the State Government. He also put forward demands of the constituency which is to create Namthang as a sub-division, upgradation of Public Health Centre, streamline of tourism sector, providing of sufficient drinking water and proper road maintenance.
During the course of the program CM also released a book titled 'The Tamang Community in Sikkim- a historical study. The book has been written by Ms. Anjana Tamang. The HCM was also facilitated by the organising committee for his efforts in uplifting state in various spheres.
