Covid 19 : Sikkim witness 108 cases in 24 hours , total 438
Pakyong, 22 Jul : As per the Daily Health Bulletin by State Health Secretary cum DG Dr Pempa Tshering Bhutia state today there were 108 positive cases reported from three districts East, West and South. In East District from Chanatar vicinity of Sikkim Distilleries Ltd SDL in Rangpo alone 52 cases were confirmed, from Singtam 03 confirmed including 1 electrician of Singtam District Hospital, In Rongli Dalapchand 1 Confirmed. In West District 1 case confirmed related to SSB primary contact of Timburbong. In South Sikkim 46 confirmed which includes test done on 21 July and 9 cases of 19 July test. Positive tested patients in East District are sent to quarantine at Himalayan Pharmacy Boys Hostel in Majhitar, South Patients at SICUN Assam Linzey East Sikkim, West quarantine in West District itself.
According to Dr. Pempa T Bhutia government has allocated 15,000 numbers of limited kits for Rapid Antigen Test which were evenly distributed to North Eastern States, there's no provision for more kits so these kits should be used judiciously however state has placed order for procurement which may or may not be available. So, people should ensure that they do not haphazardly run for test until 6 days and above is very necessary for testing. RTPCR, TrueNat etc tests will be done in similar way keeping in mind it doesn't exhaust.
