Covid 19 : Nine recovered COVID19 patients discharged by West Sikkim Health Department
Gyalshing, 24th June, 2020 (IPR): A total of 9 fully recovered COVID19 Positive patients were released from the Isolation Ward in Ayush Hospital, Kyongsa, West Sikkim.
The entire process was administered by DC, West Shri. Karma R. Bonpo; Shri. Tashi Wangyal, SP West; Shri. Karma L. Lepcha, ADC West and Dr. Anusha Lama, CMO (W) along with all health officials.
DC West while addressing the recovered patients congratulated them for fighting against the unseen enemy. He urged all to take proper care of themselves as they have a huge responsibility of keeping their loved ones safe by following the protocols of home quarantine.
He further stated that the remaining Positive patients need not worry rather they should take proper care of themselves and eat well along with exercise and yoga. He also wished them for speedy recovery so that they too can go back to their individual homes.
SP West also in his address congratualted them and wished them good health. He also advised them to follow the home quarantine protocols strictly.
As per the information received, the remaining 5 positive patients are asymptomatic in nature and are receiving all the necessary treatment in the Ayush Isolation Center where they are kept under continuous observation.
Dr. Anusha Lama, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) West stated that all necessary health and safety protocols are being followed by all. The patients were discharged after the tests came negative twice within 24 hours.
She informed that the remaining 5 patients of Ayush Isolation center would be re-tested on 27th June, 2020. She also informed that the PHC Doctors and ASHA workers have been informed for follow up and strict compliance to the rules of Home Quarantine.
Ayush Isolation Center is the only Isolation Center in Sikkim apart from the one at the State's Capital, Gangtok and has all the necessary equipments to handle such cases.
